Knutsford was exceptionally busy for a Monday, as like the rest of England, it saw its non-essential retail, gyms, hairdressers, beauty salons and outdoor hospitality re-open.
Sandra Curties, town centre and marketing officer at Knutsford Town Council, said “There was a lovely atmosphere in the town as shop owners re-opened their doors, you could see the excitement and relief on people’s faces as they walked round. We would also like to remind everyone who got a Knutsford Voucher for Christmas now is an ideal time to spend them!”
Janine Knight, who works for Chic Interiors in Knutsford, said, “January seems such a long time ago now. It was lovely to open our doors again and greet our customers once more. The sun shone too. It did not feel like a Monday at all!”.
Gareth West of Gareth West Hairdressing, said “To say our customers were pleased to see us would be an understatement! Lots of lovely smiles of relief as those lockdown hairstyles disappeared! We were extremely busy and although we didn’t get a chance to sit down, we loved every minute of re-opening day”
April 12th was the first major change in the government’s road map out of lockdown. If government targets are met, the next stage will be May 17th with the re-opening of indoor hospitality.
