Alderley Park Site Leader, AstraZeneca and Chair of the Local Transport Board
Graeme is the Alderley Park Site Leader for AstraZeneca, the largest pharmaceutical site in Europe, where he is responsible for the delivery of complex capital and business change projects, organisational leadership and engagement. He is presently involved in the site’s transformation to a multi-tenanted site under new ownership.
Graeme has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 25 years. In this time he has worked in site leadership, manufacturing and R&D across the UK and also in the US.
He has brought forward over 20 cancer and antiviral drug development programmes, many in alliance with other pharmaceutical companies. He is the co-creator and founder in BioHUB, a highly successful bioscience incubator based in the UK.
Graeme earned his Master’s Degree in Engineering from Sheffield University and his Masters in Pharmaceutical Science from UMIST (University of Manchester).
In 2003, he was appointed a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering. He and his family live near Macclesfield and he is a keen dinghy sailor/coach having had success at international and world championship level.
