Councillor Craig Browne

Deputy Leader of Cheshire East Council

Craig Browne became Deputy Leader of Cheshire East Council in May 2019; he is also a member of Alderley Edge Parish Council. By profession he is a Business Development Consultant, specialising in supporting charities, social enterprises and other third sector organisations.

Previously, he has managed a range of international co-operation projects, focusing on training, development and economic growth. He began his career working in the civil service with the Inland Revenue, but has been running his own independent business since 2004.

He was elected to Cheshire East Council as an Independent councillor in 2015 and takes as his inspiration the words of the C18th theologian, John Wesley: “do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can”.
