Plans revealed for £70m football centre and luxury hotel
Plans for a £70m complex in Cheshire – comprising a new football centre and a luxury hotel and spa – have been revealed, with the project set to create a significant number of job opportunities.
Cheshire County FA, Cheshire West and Chester Council, and Liverpool-based ION Developments are behind the proposed facility, which is earmarked for a site in Northwich.
It has been designed to become a “unique world class football facility” for the provision of women’s and girls’ football, with Cheshire FA also in discussions with a WSL1 club to become a partner on the site.
Upon completion – which is expected in 2020 – the complex would comprise a luxury hotel and spa, two FIFA-standard hybrid pitches, a 1,000-seater stadium, eight further playing fields and education areas.
Steve Parry, managing director of ION Developments, said: “We are greatly looking forward to ringing what will become a world-class football centre with luxury hotel to Cheshire.
