Plans for 180 Stretton homes look set for approval

PLANS to build 180 homes in Stretton look set to be approved despite concerns over a ‘drastic increase’ in traffic.

The Homes and Communities Agency, which has been replaced by Homes England, had proposals for three schemes approved last year.

Outline plans for 180 properties on land in Stretton, bounded by Pewterspear Green Road and Stretton Road, as well as 370 homes at Appleton Cross and 400 homes in Grappenhall Heys, were passed.

The Pewterspear site was purchased by Barratt Developments in March this year, with a reserved matters planning application submitted to the authority in April.

It had been recommended for approval when it came before the development management committee last month.

A decision was deferred but it will come before the committee again on Wednesday.

In total, 14 objections have been submitted by residents.
