Who we are
Welcome to 871 – the total square mileage of Cheshire & Warrington, the best performing economy in the North of England and one of the most successful and fastest growing economies in the country.
Established in 2011, we are a private sector-led organisation responsible for speaking on behalf of businesses, championing important issues with government and ultimately driving the economic growth of our sub-region.
Working in partnership with local government, businesses, educational institutes and other public, private and community sector organisations, we keep Cheshire and Warrington firmly on the map.
Led by an experienced and dedicated board of public and private sector members, we aim to make Cheshire and Warrington the best place to do business in the UK by providing 871 square miles of opportunity, innovation, ambition, inspiration and growth.
What we do
The partnership is not just about the board and the small, dedicated support team. In practice it is about every organisation and individual in Cheshire and Warrington who is prepared to offer their services to help improve the economy in our sub-region.
We coordinate a high level of cooperation between public and private sectors to develop the local economy.
Our board works in partnership with three local authorities – Cheshire East Council, Cheshire West and Chester Council and Warrington Borough Council, Cheshire Business Leaders, Chambers of Commerce, Place Teams and other key figures in economic development. These include all the major business representative organisations, together with the sub-region’s two universities, Colleges of Further Education and the voluntary and community sectors.
